A Victorian Terrace House located in Taunton was the description via our web site contact form. Attic Designs have created countless loft conversions in this type of property so looked forward to our first meeting with the homeowner.
Having had a few loft converters around our client informed us no-one could really find a good use of the space and make the stairs fit to be part of the house. Everything seemed to be a problem and they have thought perhaps it wasn’t meant to be. Fortunately, through a friend’s recommendation we were contacted.
Well it didn’t take more than a few minutes to work out the attic space would make a great loft conversion and that the stairs should rise above the existing flight. In so doing they would become part of the house and simply be a continuation of the flow. What we call a text book loft conversion.
Having explained how things could work, regulations that effect loft conversions and armed with the clients preferred choices, we went away and designed a free no obligation quotation. The roof space would, without the need for dormer windows create a fabulous child’s bedroom. We would fit Fakro or Velux roof mounted window to the rear which, when coupled together, create a true window feel that you can see out off and afford the room plenty of light and ventilation. As you will see the entrance to the loft conversion binds seamlessly with the existing house due to the design and positioning of the new staircase.
Built as quoted, no extras, no surprises and to the clients complete satisfaction. In fact Mr & Mrs S. have since gone on to allow the Federation of Master Builders to contact them as part of their continued process of assessing our membership and build quality. Also recommending Attic Designs to friends that have gone also had loft conversions by us. Thank you Mr & Mrs S.
