Our prospective clients at this Detached Modern Style House required two bedrooms with a cloakroom to attic space. The initial inquiry was to see if the roof was convertible as it had a “truss roof”.
On our survey we confirm that, yes it was convertible and that truss roof loft conversions were not a problem for us. We discussed what could be achieved and surveyed the complete property.
We then presented to the client our free quotation with scheme plan of one option that could be achieved on a truss roof loft conversion. Having studied the plans and following discussions we present a re-design for a single master bedroom and en-suite. The new stairs would rise from the existing landing area for minimum disruption. The room would be lit by Fakro roof windows.
All details were agreed along with signing of contract etc. Our Architect prepared full working plans and structural calculations which were passed by the council before work commenced.
The initial work was completed from the exterior via a scaffold to minimize disruption. This was completed in three weeks followed up by the a further 2.5 weeks for fitting of staircase, plastering and final fitting out of skirting’s, doors and en-suite.
Final result has created a fantastic room that adds so much to the property. Both in use, plus re-sale value.
