Directors, Denise & Chris plan to run at least a mile-a-day for the whole of 2017 to raise funds for Taunton & District Mencap. The challenge is called a “running streak”. Definition being, run at least one continuous mile within each calendar day under one’s own body power

Hip to gable or raised gable is the perfect way to convert a hip-end 1920s -1930s semi-detached house. This type of loft conversion is typically carried out on roofs that has three sloping side. See some examples of the type of properties we are referring to can be viewed here. Other properties that can benefit from hip to gable loft conversions include detached houses and bungalows.
Most properties have a regular, ‘hipped’ roof with a sloping side. This means existing loft space is often limited, making it difficult to create a loft conversion without extending your property. This is why hip to gable loft conversions create so much space.
This type of loft conversion extends your property on the sloping side, effectively replacing the sloping roof with a vertical wall (the gable) at the end to the same height as the ridge, and filling in the space in between. The added space can then be used for whatever purpose you see fit, although typically they create huge master bedroom and en-suite.
Most hip-to-gable conversion are within permitted development rights and do not require a full planning application. They are also suitable for many bungalows and chalets too.
