With over 25 years experience as a specialist in the art of loft conversions, we pride ourselves on our established reputation as a friendly and helpful company who are aware of all the problems that can be associated with the various types homes found in the south west of England.  We convert all types of properties such as mid-terrace, semi-detached, detached, bungalows, pre and post war and modern truss roofs.

Originally founded in 1980, we have since then converted literally hundreds of roof spaces to our client’s satisfaction. We have grown and developed into a company whose success is driven by the use of quality materials coupled with a high standard of workmanship. Over the years we have seen a lot of changes in the construction industry, and as ever in this ever-changing society no doubt there will be a lot more. Due to our specialist skills we can take on board new regulations as they appear and continue to design well thought out and constructed conversions. Others my come and go but we will still converting lofts in the years to come.

We offer a complete loft conversion service from initial design and planning through to construction, Attic Designs provide a range of services including; advice on design and layout, obtaining planning permission and building regulations, drawing up plans to the customers specification, a five year ‘no quibble’ guarantee, our specialist knowledge in Velux and Dormer windows, as well as offering advice on building extra bedrooms, offices, studies, nurseries and dens. Every project is treated to the same high standard, being supervised at every stage.  The price that we quote is the price that you pay, with no hidden extra costs.

We are Members of the Federation of Master Builders, European Builders Confederation, the Federation of Small Business and the UK Trades Confederation.  Attic Designs Ltd is also member of the Federation of Master builders trust mark and of the warranted builders scheme. All governing bodies are there to promote good codes of conduct in the building industry. 

Our reputation has been built up over the years from our client’s word of mouth recommendations as well as our show house’s which can be visited throughout Devon and Somerset. We carry full all risks public liability insurance for your peace of mind.

One of the more original factors about our company is that we are a Building control partner with Exeter city council building control department.  This ensures a close working relationship with the council who will go on to check our plans and work along side any other district councils and department if required.
 
Another factor that makes us stand out from other companies is that all of our Key Staff are directly employed with the exception of specialists such as Electricians in order that we control the way in which your loft is converted.  This is highly unusual in this sector. Most companies prefer to contract to labour only sub-contractors to try to cut corners on employment law, health and safety and tax implications.  We feel direct staff is of paramount importance to avoid all the pitfalls of builders sub-contracting work out and then not being in control of when and how they behave on-site. Direct labour means direct control of the build process. We have all seen the “builders from hell” and heard the horror stories of having building work carried out.
